Who this helps
Small and growing federal prime contractors and subcontractors that need dependable monthly accounting without building an entire internal department. This can be especially useful when your first award has outgrown a general bookkeeping approach, or your team needs clearer project-level information.
What we help solve
A bank balance cannot tell you whether a contract is profitable. Late reconciliations, inconsistent project codes, and expenses posted to the wrong accounts can make billing and management decisions harder. Regina helps connect day-to-day bookkeeping to the way your contracts actually operate.
What support can include
- Review the chart of accounts and project or contract coding for a clearer accounting structure.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, investigate open items, and support a consistent monthly close.
- Organize labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and other expenses by the appropriate job or category.
- Help distinguish direct costs, indirect costs, and separately identified unallowable costs.
- Prepare financial and project reports and discuss what the numbers mean for your next decisions.
Your engagement is tailored to your records, contracts, and priorities. Regina will confirm the scope, fees, responsibilities, and timing before work begins.
How we work together
We begin with your current records, accounting software, contract mix, and reporting needs. Together, we identify cleanup work and agree on a monthly routine, responsibilities, and the information you will provide. Ongoing support can then focus on keeping records current and explaining issues before they accumulate.
Common questions
Can you help if our books are behind?
Yes. Tell Regina which periods are incomplete and which records are available. Cleanup requirements and ongoing monthly support are scoped separately so the starting point is clear.
Do we need to change accounting software?
Not necessarily. The first discussion considers how your current software supports project coding, reporting, and your contract requirements. A recommendation follows the review rather than an automatic software change.
Does bookkeeping include an audit or tax return?
The work depends on the agreed engagement. Monthly bookkeeping does not by itself include an independent audit, legal advice, or tax preparation. Regina will clarify the services you need before work begins.
